The Symbiosis Chamber Orchestra (http://www.wix.com/symbiosisensemble/home) and clarinet soloist John Tegmeyer (http://www.johntegmeyer.com/) will be premiering by piece "Pantomime" of chamber orchestra and jazz soloist. The piece was commissioned by John for use on his various soloist concerts, and as composer-in-residence for Symbiosis, they graciously agreed to premiere the piece here in LA.
The Avenel Chamber Players premiere an orchestration of "Falling Apart" for woodwind quintet + piano that was commissioned by the ensemble in 2009.
Great concert of featuring works by Gianopoulos, Schubert, Stamitz, Britten, and two movements of a piano trio (piano, violin, cello) by yours truly. Heavy company indeed!
Returning to the site of some my formative musical experiences for a performance and clinic.
Perhaps the first time I've had a performance I would call a recital and not a show! I'm looking forward to this concert as this will be my first exploration of the solo piano idiom. Hopefully more to come and perhaps even a recording...
